A través del "Open Content Program", el Museo Getty ha liberado los derechos de su colección de pinturas, dibujos, manuscritos, fotografías, esculturas y otras obras. Dentro de la colección de fotografías se pueden encontrar representados gran parte de los mejores fotógrafos de la historia: Eugène Atget, Julia Margaret Cameron, Walter Evans, Lewis Hine, Dorothea Lange, Nadar, Alfred Stieglitz, Paul Strand, Edward Weston, Garry Winogrand entre otros.
